3 Months

I feel like it was just yesterday I was rubbing my belly waiting for our little one to arrive.  Now Xander is three months and I can't beleive how much he has changed.  Now I understand what people mean when they say 'it goes by so fast so enjoy every minute'.

He is such a little man and I love every little bit of him.  He makes me smile everyday and I wouldn't change a thing.

Monday Moment

From the movie 'The Help' I love this quote.  I vow to let my son know this everyday. Found at http://tracys-trinkets-treasures.blogspot.com

Sketchbook 4

Sketch 6 - Some Kind of Love: This sketch took me a while to complete. Ever have scrappers block? I was having a hard time being creative and put the page aside for a bit. When I came back to it this was the result.  The sketch was fairly simple with nice clean lines. This picture is of me and my little man.

Book Love

So who else is reading this book? I have to say I didn't want to buy into all the hype but who am I kidding, I've read Harry Potter and Twilight so I couldn't resist.  Well I'm happy I joined the hype! This book is so good, run and and get your copy now!  I can't wait to read the rest of the series.  Happy reading :)

Insta-Love

A few of my favorite instagram pictures of Xander right now. Wow where did the time go! He's already two and a half months old.
  • taking a bath and loving it
  • his sweet little face
  • smiling for the camera
  • sitting in his bumbo chair strong and happy ( I can't believe he's holding his head up already)
  • after his two month needles ( he cried for 2 minutes! I'm so proud of my tough little man)
  • playing with his favorite toy

Monday Moment

Always remember how rich your life is and what has made it so rich. Its the moments we have with family and friends that matter most. This image is from http://www.piccsy.com

Sketchbook 4

Sketch 5- My little muscle man: In this layout I used County Fair paper from a Studio Calico kit.  The Sketch challenged us to use diagonal lines which I never do.  Xander is one month old in this picture and the title is very fitting.  He is quite the strong little baby.

Sketchbook 4

I've decided to join Kelly Purkey's class Sketchbook 4. So far I've completed four pages based on her sketches.  I love this class because it provided me with the inspiration to scrap more often. Here are my pages.

Sketch 1- 9 Months: I used bits of paper from my Studio Calico kits to create this page. I love the colours in my shirt and tried to keep the page soft.  This page is near and dear to my heart because I remember the anticipation and excitement I was feeling at the time.

Sketch 2- Proud Daddy: This sketch challenged us to use circles. I kept this page fairly simple and followed the sketch pretty closely. I used paper from the Story Hour collection from Crate Paper, I just love the colours.

Sketch 3- Bits of You: For this sketch I used the City of Lights kit from Studio Calico.  What a beautiful kit! This page did not take long to complete because everything in the kit went together so well.

Sketch 4- Sweet Dreams: For this page I used scraps from all my previous Studio Calico kits  I love this picture of my little baby boy sleeping so sweetly.

Beginning

Well, here it goes. My first post.  I have to say I have never been much of a 'computer' person and stayed away from things like Facebook.  Connecting to people face to face was more my style and after staring at a computer at work all day the last thing I wanted to do was look at one when I got home.

My life however has changed drastically this year. I became a mom to a 7 pound baby boy in January and I am staying home, off on maternity leave for one year.  With this change I have found myself 'plugging in' and have found the computer and things like Facebook a way for me to stay connected.  I have also found my head to be free from the day to day grind of work which has opened me up to alot of thoughts and ideas.

So I have to say I stand corrected from my old way of thinking and I'm excited to start this new venture in my life as both mom and blogger.
